Black Friday sales are living proof the world`s gone mad.
Why do people queue up for hours, then grapple with each other like they`re recreating a wildlife scene from a Sir David Attenborough show and all for the sake of a marginally cheaper telly baffles me.
At Taylor Walsh we enjoy a bit of retail therapy like most people but when it comes to Black Friday we say thanks, but no thanks.
It`s not just Amazon sellers, supermarkets and other online retailers, who believe that slashing prices is a good way of gaining business.
I`ve seen some estate agencies do it too with fees so low it leaves me thinking ‘how can they charge that and still give a good level of service and expertise?`
The trouble is they can`t and a ‘Black Friday` approach to estate agency doesn`t work.
And here`s why?
Over the 16 years I`ve been an agent I`ve looked on in horror as agencies try this cheap and cheerful route but become unstuck.
It`s an unsustainable business model and the client suffers.
Ridiculously low fees mean something has to give and it`s usually the level of client care and knowledge.
The old adage - you get what you pay for is particularly true in the world of property.
Like everyone else I love a bargain but some cost corners are not worth cutting.
And what seems a cheap option often turns out more expensive in the long run.
Thanks for reading and if you have any property related questions please don`t hesitate to get in touch with us – we`d love to help you.
