Every year the United Nations released the World Happiness Report.
It's a global survey to find which countries have the happiest and most contented people.
In 2017 Norway came top followed by Denmark, Iceland. Switzerland and Finland.
The Swiss aside it looks like our Scandinavian cousins are doing something right and finding the right balance as they regularly top the cheerful charts.
The UK came 19th – an improvement of 4 places from 2016.
The survey highlighted some common factors among those people living the most happily. They were high levels of trust in their Governments, a good work life balance and access to quality medical care and education.
This report got me thinking – not of selling up and heading off to live in Oslo – but about what makes people happy when their selling their homes.
1) Trust – they need to feel they can trust the agent they've instructed.
2) Communication – they want to feel well informed and constantly updated on the sale's progress.
3) Results – in my experience if an agent can deliver the right price within a good time period most clients are very happy.
At Taylor Walsh if our clients are happy then we're happy.
